This music video was produced for quirky singer/songwriter/actress "Tamela" According to Cinematographer Roderick E. Stevens - "This was one of those exemplary 'make the best with what ya' got' productions." (below) Tamela sits with Director, Darren Bousman (Identity Lost). ![]() |

Darren had a hard time nailing down an appropriately lush location for such a tightly budgeted video. "We ended up shooting much of it in a discouragingly small apartment." Roderick frowns. "But some well placed set dressing, the right colors, lots of candles and a bit of smoke, and we came out with a GREAT looking video!" ![]() "Knowing we were creating a pretty classic, rich look for the bulk of the video we purposely changed things up for our other two locales." Including black and white for the night exteriors (above) and a more unique look for the locked down "performance" piece (below) for which we used makeup and lighting to facilitate knocking down (in telecine) all of the color except the red couch & curtains. |

(left and following) A center-piece to the video is a fun, "tango-like", jazz-dance designed by choreographer, Rosie Sharkey; in which Tamela steps, spins and dips with the corpse of the man she just killed. | ||

"I really tried to be liberal and stylized with my lighting and was pleasantly surprised to see how unobtrusive it all felt" As on almost all of his shoots, mirrors were part of Roderick's lighting arsenal. | ||
