Caught in a netherworld between nightmare and reality, he overcomes all odds to find his sanity.

Sometimes there is a fine line between nightmares and memories. Open Arms explores both worlds through Jay Phillips, a teenager who discovers a strange mysterious familiarity about the town he's recently moved to.

When Jay encounters dim memories from a dark realm which is his own hidden past seen through the eyes of a little boy, he is terrified. He is surrounded by images of a tormenting shadowy house; an evil man; and a little girl who appears as the only refuge in a frightening childhood.

Being the new kid in town, Jay is challenged by the local gully, Tony. All the kids rout for Tony except one, Kelly. Jay's attraction for Kelly, a pretty but insecure girl whose own emotions are in turmoil, is puzzingly familiar.

His passionate and charismatic couselor, Mr. Penzel, brings about the first mystical collision between Jay's dreamworld and reality.

Finally, Mr. Penzel helps Jay discover his true identity  .  .  . and that Kelly was the little girl who comforted him when he was a frightened little boy.

.  .   . or  .  .  . maybe the genny caught fire. I can't remember.
